Think of it as your spiritual exercise, similar to as you go to the gym to stay fit, a daily prayer practice can keep your soul strong and connected to the Divine.

The most challenging aspect of praying is making it a consistent element of our daily lives. However, with a amount of planning and effort you can develop your own prayer routine that is suitable with your lifestyle and schedule. And the greatest part is that you can customize it to match your own personality and your spiritual beliefs.

Let’s be real, life can be hectic and it’s easy for prayer to get lost on the priority list. But just like anything else that’s worth having, it requires commitment and discipline. That’s where developing a prayer routine comes in. It gives an order and accountability to ensure that we’re connecting with the divine on regularly.

How do you begin? First, you must determine what time of day works best for you to pray. Some prefer to begin their day by praying, while others prefer to pray at night before going to bed. Try it out and discover what works for you.

After you’ve decided on the most appropriate time for prayer then you can begin to build your routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for morning prayer:

Begin by talking to God to ask for his help as you read and pray.

Read a passage from the Bible and reflect on it for a while. This can be done by reading it three to four times, or listing anything it tells you about yourself or examples to follow, commands to follow or promises to make.

Structure your prayer by offering adoration, confession as well as petition and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your urgent needs and concerns and then take time to enjoy God’s presence.

The best thing about the prayer time routine is that it can be adapted to suit your needs. For some, you may have only some minutes and others could have a half an time or even more. The key is that you make this a consistent part of your routine. If you fall off a day or two do not fret! Just get back on track the next day.

An everyday prayer practice is an excellent method to begin this new year feeling a fresh sense of purpose and feeling of connection to the divine. It’s a powerful way to start your day, placing your attention upon the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions to His plans.

Another way to increase your prayer practice is to create a more interactive. Instead of just reciting words, you should try to connect with God in a deeper way. Make use of your imagination and try to imagine the scenes that are described by the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character and place yourself in their position. This makes your time of prayer more personal and meaningful.

It is also possible to incorporate various forms in your prayer routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even writing your prayers. This will keep your prayer routine from becoming repetitive and provide variety to your spiritual routine.

One of the best ways to stay engaged and focused on your daily prayers is sharing your practice with others. Find a accountability partner either a close friend or family member who will check in with you and help you to keep to your daily routine. They may even join you in prayer and share their personal experiences.

Remember, the goal of a daily prayer practice is to strengthen your relationship with God and align your thoughts and actions to His plan. It’s not about achieving perfection or following the strict guidelines, but rather being deliberate and consistent in your daily spiritual practice. So, take the time to discover a prayer practice that you enjoy and set it as a priority in your day-to-day life. You’ll be amazed by the difference it can make on your spiritual growth as well as overall wellbeing.
