So, how do you start? It’s the first thing to do is determine what time of day is most conducive to you to pray. Some prefer to begin their day with prayer, while others prefer to pray in the evening before going to getting to bed. Test and see what works best for you.

Once you’ve determined the best time to pray then you can begin building your daily routine. Here’s an example of a pattern that you can follow daily for morning prayers:

Begin by addressing God and asking for his blessing as you read and pray.

Go through a section of the Bible and reflect on it for a while. This can be accomplished by reading it three to four times, or writing down everything it reveals about yourself, guidelines to obey or promises to keep.

Structure your prayer by making confession, adoration prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Make a prayer for your needs and pressing concerns and then take time to be in God’s presence.

The beauty of a prayer routine is that it’s customizable to fit your needs. Many people might only have just a few minutes, while others may have a half an hours or longer. The trick is making it a regular element of your day-to-day routine. If you don’t make it through one or two days do not fret! Get back on track the following day.

The practice of daily prayer is a great method to begin this new year feeling a renewed sense of purpose and spiritual connection with God. It’s an effective way to start your day, keeping your eyes upon the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions in accordance with His plan.

Another way to increase your prayer routine is to enhance it by making it more engaging. Instead of reciting the words, try to engage with God on a deeper level. Try using your imagination to visualize the scenes within the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This will make your prayer time more personal and meaningful.

You can also try incorporating different types in your prayer daily routine. For example, try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even writing your prayers. This can keep your prayer practice from becoming repetitive and provide variety to your spiritual routine.

One of the most effective ways to stay focused and in line with your daily prayers is sharing the practice with others. Find a accountability partner, a friend or family member who will check on you regularly and help you to stick to your schedule. They could even be a part of your prayer and share their personal experiences.

Rememberthat the purpose of a regular prayer routine is to increase your connection with God and ensure that your actions and thoughts are in line in accordance with His plans. It’s not about perfection or following an unwritten set of rules, it’s about being consistent and deliberate in your spiritual life. So, take the time to discover a prayer practice that works for you and set it as a priority in your daily life. You’ll be amazed by how much difference it makes for your spiritual development and overall well-being.
