Begin by approaching God and asking for his help while you read and pray.

Go through a section of the Bible and then meditate on the passage. This can be accomplished by reading the passage three to four times, or writing down the things it says about yourself, examples to follow, commands to follow or promises to claim.

Make your prayer a ritual by making confession, adoration as well as petition and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your immediate needs and worries as well as taking time to enjoy God’s presence.

The best thing about praying is that it’s customizable to meet your requirements. Some people may only have some minutes while others might have an hours or longer. Another method to improve your prayer time is to make it more interactive. Instead of simply reciting words, try to engage with God at a deeper level. Use your imagination and try to visualize the scenes by the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters and place yourself in their shoes. This makes your time of prayer more meaningful and personal.

You can also try incorporating various forms of prayer into your daily routine. For example, try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even writing your prayers. This will prevent your prayer routine from becoming repetitive and provide variety to your spiritual routine.

One of the best ways to remain engaged and focused on your prayer practice is by sharing it with others. Find a accountability partner, a family member or friend member who will check on you regularly and help you to adhere to your schedule. They could even be a part of your prayers and share their own experiences.

The goal of a regular prayer routine is to increase your connection with God and align your thoughts and actions to His plan.
