After you’ve decided on the most appropriate time for prayer, you can start to establish a routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for morning prayers:
Begin by approaching God and asking for his blessing as you read and meditate.
Go through a section of the Bible and then meditate on it for a while. This can be accomplished by reading the passage three to four times or by listing everything it reveals about yourself, or the examples you can follow, instructions to follow or promises to keep.
Make your prayer a ritual by offering adoration, confession as well as petition and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your needs and pressing concerns, and take time to be in God’s presence.
The beauty of a prayer routine is that it is customizable to suit your needs. Many people might only have just a few minutes and others could be able to devote a whole time or even more. The key is making it a constant element of your day-to-day routine. If you fall off a day or two do not fret! You can get back on track for the next day.
An everyday prayer practice is an excellent opportunity to begin this new year feeling a renewed belief in the purpose of your life and a connection with the divine. It’s a powerful way to begin your day by putting your focus upon the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions to His plans.
Another way to increase your prayer routine is to make it more interactive. Instead of simply reciting phrases, try engaging with God at a deeper level. Try using your imagination to visualize the scenes in the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters and place yourself in their position. This makes your time of prayer more meaningful and personal.
Try incorporating different forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For example, try a silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even journaling your prayers. This will keep your prayer practice from becoming monotonous and add some variety to your daily spiritual routine.

Find an accountability partner, a friend or family member who will check in with you and help you to stick to your daily routine. They can even join you in prayer and share their personal experiences.
