Begin by talking to God, ask for his help as you read and pray.
Read a passage from the Bible and then meditate on it for a while. This can be accomplished by reading it three or four times, or listing anything it tells you about yourself, guidelines to follow or promises to make.
Make your prayer a ritual by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Pray for your urgent needs and concerns and then take time to be in God’s presence.
The great thing about praying is that it is customizable to suit your needs. Many people might only have a few minutes to spare and others could have a half an time or even more. The trick is that you make this a consistent part of your routine. If you don’t make it through a day or two do not fret! You can get back on track the next day.

Another way to enhance your prayer time is to make it more interactive. Instead of reciting the words, try to engage with God at a deeper level. Try using your imagination to picture the scenes described in the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This makes your time of prayer more meaningful and personal.
Try incorporating various forms prayers into your routine. For example, try a silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even writing your prayers. This will keep your prayer practice from becoming monotonous and add variety to your spiritual routine.

Find a accountability partner, a family member or friend member who will check on you regularly and help you to stick to your schedule. They can even join you in prayer and share their personal experiences.
The goal of daily prayer is to strengthen your relationship with God and make sure that your thoughts and actions are aligned with His will.
