Begin by talking to God to ask for his presence as you read and meditate.

Take a chapter from the Bible and then meditate on it for a while. It can be done by reading it three to four times, or writing down the things it says about yourself or examples to follow, commands to obey , or promises to make.

Your prayer should be structured by making confession, adoration as well as petition and thanksgiving. Pray for your immediate needs and worries, and take time to sit in the presence of God.

The beauty of the prayer time routine is that it’s customizable to suit your needs. For some, you may have only a few minutes to spare while others might be able to devote a whole hour or more. Make use of your imagination and try to picture the scenes described within the Bible. You can try to imagine the feelings of these characters and put yourself in their shoes. This can make your time in prayer more personal and meaningful.

It is also possible to incorporate different forms prayers into your routine. For example, try a silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even writing your prayers. This will keep your prayer practice from becoming repetitive and provide some variety to your daily spiritual routine.

Find a partner in accountability, a family member or friend member who will be checking in with you and encourage you to keep to your routine. They can even join you in prayer and share their personal experiences.
