Go through a section of the Bible and then meditate on the passage. This can be done by reading it three to four times or by listing anything it tells you about yourself, examples to follow, commands to follow or promises to keep.
Structure your prayer by praying for adoration, confession as well as petition and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your immediate needs and worries, and take time to sit in the presence of God.

Try using your imagination to imagine the scenes that are described in the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters, and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This makes your time of prayer more meaningful and personal.
You can also try incorporating different forms in your prayer routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even writing down your prayers. This will prevent your prayer practice from becoming boring and will add variety to your spiritual routine.
One of the most effective methods to keep yourself engaged and focused on your prayer practice is by sharing it with others. Find a partner in accountability either a close friend or family member who will check in with you and help you to stick to your routine. They could even join you in prayers and share their own experiences.
