Begin by approaching God to ask for his help as you read and meditate.
Take a chapter from the Bible and meditate on it. This can be accomplished by reading it three or four times, or listing the things it says about yourself, or guidelines to obey , or promises to claim.
Make your prayer a ritual by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your urgent needs and concerns and then take time to be in God’s presence.
The best thing about the prayer time routine is that it can be adapted to fit your needs. Many people might only have just a few minutes and others could have a half an time or even more. It’s important to make it a consistent part of your daily routine. If you fall off a day or two do not fret! You can get back on track for the next day.
The practice of daily prayer is a wonderful opportunity to begin your new year off with a fresh feeling of purpose and feeling of connection to the divine. It’s a powerful way to begin your day by putting your focus upon the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned in accordance with His plan.

Make use of your imagination and try to visualize the scenes by the Bible. You can try to imagine the feelings of these characters and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This can make your time in prayer more personal and meaningful.
Try incorporating different forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For example, try a silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even journaling your prayers. This can keep your prayer routine from becoming repetitive and provide some variety to your daily spiritual routine.
One of the most effective methods to keep yourself motivated and on track with your daily prayer routine is sharing the practice with other people. Find a partner in accountability, a friend or family member who will be checking in with you and encourage you to stick to your schedule. They may even be a part of your prayer and share their personal experiences.
Remember, the goal of a daily prayer practice is to increase your connection with God and make sure that your thoughts and actions are aligned in accordance with His plans.
