Begin by talking to God and asking for his presence as you read and meditate.
Take a chapter from the Bible and reflect on the passage. This can be done by reading the passage three to four times or by listing anything it tells you about yourself, guidelines to obey or promises to make.
Structure your prayer by offering adoration, confession as well as petition and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your immediate needs and worries as well as taking time to sit in the presence of God.
