The most challenging part of prayer is to make it a regular element of our daily life. With a bit of planning and effort, you can create your own prayer routine that is suitable for you and your time. The best part is, you get to customize it to fit your personality and your spiritual beliefs.

Let’s be real, life is hectic and it’s easy to let prayers get lost on the priority list. However, just like everything other thing worth having, it takes effort and discipline. That’s where developing the habit of praying comes into. It helps us establish a structure and accountability to ensure we’re in contact with God on a regularly.

So, how do you begin? First, you must decide which time of the day works best for you to pray. Some people like to start their day by praying, while others prefer to pray before going to getting to bed. Test and see what works best for you.

Once you’ve determined the best time for prayer You can begin building your daily routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for morning prayers:

Begin by addressing God, ask for his help as you read and meditate.

Take a chapter from the Bible and then meditate on it. This can be accomplished by reading the passage three to four times or by listing anything it tells you about yourself or the examples you can follow, instructions to follow or promises to claim.

Your prayer should be structured by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your needs and pressing concerns as well as taking time to enjoy God’s presence.

The best thing about a prayer routine is that it’s customizable to fit your needs. Some people may only have a few minutes to spare while others might have a half an hour or more. The trick is to make it a consistent part of your routine. And if you miss the occasional day or two do not fret! Get back on track the following day.

An everyday prayer practice is a wonderful way to start the new year with a renewed sense of purpose and spiritual connection with God. It’s a powerful way to begin your day by keeping your eyes upon the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions with His will.

Another way to enhance your prayer practice is to make it more engaging. Instead of just reciting phrases, try engaging with God in a deeper way. Try using your imagination to visualize the scenes in the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters, and put yourself in their position. This makes your time of prayer more personal and meaningful.

You can also try incorporating various forms in your prayer routine. For example, try a silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even journaling your prayers. This can keep your prayer practice from becoming monotonous and add the variety you need to your spiritual practice.

One of the best methods to keep yourself engaged and focused on your prayer practice is by sharing it with other people. Find a accountability partner either a close friend or family member who can check in with you and help you to adhere to your routine. They could even be a part of your prayer and share their own experiences.

Remember, the goal of daily prayer is to deepen your relationship with God and ensure that your actions and thoughts are in line in accordance with His plans. It’s not about perfectionism or following a strict set of rules, it’s about being intentional and consistent in your life of faith. Therefore, make the effort to create a routine of prayer that works for you and make it a priority in your daily life.
