The most challenging part of prayer is making it a constant part of our lives. With a time and planning it is possible to create your own prayer routine that is suitable for you and your schedule. The greatest part is that you get to customize it to match your own personality and your spiritual beliefs.

Life is hectic and it’s easy for prayer to slide off the priority list. Like everything else worth being a part of, it requires dedication and discipline. That’s where developing a prayer routine comes in. It provides structure and accountability to ensure we’re connected to God on a regularly.

So, how do you begin? It’s the first thing to do is determine what time of day is most conducive to you to pray. Some people prefer to start their day with prayer, while others prefer to pray in the evening before going to bed. Test and see what works for you.

Once you’ve determined the best time for prayer, you can start to build your routine. Here’s an example of a pattern that you can follow daily for morning prayers:

Begin by approaching God, ask for his presence as you read and meditate.

Read a passage from the Bible and meditate on it. It can be done by reading the passage three to four times, or writing down everything it reveals about yourself, or the examples you can follow, instructions to obey or promises to keep.

Structure your prayer by making confession, adoration prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Make a prayer for your urgent needs and concerns, and take time to sit in the presence of God.

The beauty of the prayer time routine is that it is customizable to fit your needs. Some people may only have just a few minutes, while others may have an hour or more. The key is to make it a constant element of your day-to-day routine. If you fall off a day or two do not fret! You can get back on track for the next day.

A daily prayer practice is a great way to start the new year with a renewed sense of purpose and connection with the divine. It’s an effective way to begin your day by placing your attention on the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned to His plans.

Another way to increase your prayer routine is to make it more interactive. Instead of just reciting words, you should try to connect with God at a deeper level. Try using your imagination to visualize the scenes by the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters, and put yourself in their position. This will make your prayer time more personal and meaningful.

You can also try incorporating different forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For example, try a silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even journaling your prayers. This will keep your prayer routine from becoming repetitive and provide some variety to your daily spiritual routine.

One of the most effective ways to stay engaged and focused on your daily prayer routine is sharing the practice with others. Find a accountability partner, a family member or friend member who will be checking in with you and encourage you to stick to your routine. They may even join you in prayers and share their own experiences.

Rememberthat the purpose of daily prayer is to deepen your relationship with God and make sure that your thoughts and actions are aligned to His plan. It’s not about achieving perfection or following an unwritten set of rules, it’s about being intentional and consistent in your daily spiritual practice. Take the time to create a routine of prayer that is a good fit for you and set it as a priority in your day-to-day life.
