That’s where developing the habit of praying comes into. It provides the structure and accountability needed to make sure we are connecting with the divine on regularly.

So, how do you start? The first step is to figure out the time of day that is most conducive to you to pray. Some prefer to begin their day by praying, and others prefer to pray at night before bed. Try it out and discover what works for you.

Once you’ve determined the best time for prayer then you can begin to establish a routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for morning prayers:

Begin by addressing God and asking for his presence while you read and pray.

Read a passage from the Bible and meditate on the passage. This can be done by reading the passage three to four times or by listing everything it reveals about yourself, the examples you can follow, instructions to obey , or promises to keep.

Make your prayer a ritual by making confession, adoration as well as petition and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your urgent needs and concerns and then take time to enjoy God’s presence.

The great thing about the prayer time routine is that it is customizable to fit your needs. For some, you may have only just a few minutes while others might be able to devote a whole time or even more. It’s important that you make this a constant element of your day-to-day routine. If you fall off a day or two do not fret! Get back on track the next day.

An everyday prayer practice is an excellent method to begin this new year feeling a renewed feeling of purpose and connection with the divine. It’s a powerful way to begin your day by putting your focus upon the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions in accordance with His plan.

Another way to enhance your prayer routine is to create a more interactive. Instead of just reciting words, try to engage with God in a deeper way. Try using your imagination to visualize the scenes in the Bible. You can try to imagine the feelings of these characters, and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This will make your prayer time more personal and meaningful.

Try incorporating various forms prayers into your routine. For example, try a silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even writing your prayers. This will prevent your prayer practice from becoming repetitive and provide variety to your spiritual routine.

One of the most effective ways to stay motivated and on track with your prayer practice is by sharing it with others. Find a accountability partner either a close friend or family member who will be checking in with you and help you to stick to your daily routine. They could even be a part of your prayer and share their personal experiences.

The goal of a daily prayer practice is to increase your connection with God and align your thoughts and actions to His plan. It’s not about perfection or adhering to the strict rules, it’s about being consistent and deliberate in your life of faith. Therefore, make the effort to find a prayer routine that you enjoy and set it as a priority within your everyday life.
