Are you looking to take your spiritual life to the next level? One of the most effective ways to accomplish this is to develop a daily prayer habit.

Consider it your spiritual exercise, similar to as you go to the gym to stay in shape, a daily prayer practice keeps your soul healthy and in tune with the divine.

The most difficult aspect of praying is making it a consistent part of our daily life. However, with a time and planning it is possible to create an effective prayer schedule that works for you and your time. The greatest part is that you can customize it to fit your personality and your spiritual beliefs.

Let’s be real, life can be busy and it’s easy to let prayers slide off the list of priorities. Like everything else worth being a part of, it requires commitment and discipline. This is where the creation of the habit of praying comes into. It gives structure and accountability to ensure that we’re connected to God on a regularly.

So, how do you get started? It’s the first thing to do is decide which time of the day works best for you to pray. Some prefer to begin their day with prayer, while others find it easier to pray before going to getting to bed. Test and see what works for you.

Once you’ve determined the best time for prayer then you can begin to establish a routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for prayer in the morning:

Begin by approaching God and asking for his help while you read and pray.

Go through a section of the Bible and reflect on it for a while. It can be done by reading the passage three to four times, or writing down anything it tells you about yourself, or the examples you can follow, instructions to follow or promises to make.

Your prayer should be structured by making confession, adoration as well as petition and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your urgent needs and concerns as well as taking time to sit in the presence of God.

The best thing about praying is that it is customizable to suit your needs. For some, you may have only a few minutes to spare, while others may be able to devote a whole hours or longer. The key is to make it a consistent part of your routine. And if you miss the occasional day or two Don’t be concerned! Get back on track the next day.

The practice of daily prayer is a great method to begin the new year with a renewed feeling of purpose and connection with the divine. It’s a powerful way to begin your day by placing your attention to the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned to His plans.

Another way to enhance your prayer routine is to make it more engaging. Instead of simply reciting words, you should try to connect with God on a deeper level. Try using your imagination to visualize the scenes by the Bible. You can try to imagine the feelings of these characters, and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This makes your time of prayer more personal and meaningful.

Try incorporating different forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even journaling your prayers. This can keep your prayer routine from becoming boring and will add some variety to your daily spiritual routine.

One of the most effective methods to keep yourself motivated and on track with your daily prayer routine is sharing it with other people. Find an accountability partner either a close friend or family member who will be checking in with you and encourage you to stick to your schedule. They can even be a part of your prayers and share their own experiences.

Remember, the goal of daily prayer is to deepen your relationship with God and ensure that your actions and thoughts are in line in accordance with His plans. It’s not about perfectionism or following a strict set of guidelines, but rather being deliberate and consistent in your spiritual life. Therefore, make the effort to discover a prayer practice that works for you and incorporate it in your daily life. You’ll be amazed at the impact it has in your spiritual growth as well as overall wellbeing.

1. A Morning Prayer for Strength

Dear God, I’m tired and I don’t know when my “race” will end in my life. I feel like I’ve been running forever trying to beat this trial.
