Begin by talking to God to ask for his presence while you read and pray.
Read a passage from the Bible and reflect on the passage. This can be accomplished by reading it three or four times, or listing the things it says about yourself, the examples you can follow, instructions to obey or promises to keep.
Make your prayer a ritual by making confession, adoration prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Make a prayer for your immediate needs and worries as well as taking time to enjoy God’s presence.
The great thing about a prayer routine is that it is customizable to suit your needs. For some, you may have only a few minutes to spare while others might have an hours or longer. It’s important to make it a constant part of your daily routine. If you fall off one or two days do not fret! You can get back on track for the next day.

Another method to improve your prayer time is to make it more interactive. Instead of simply reciting phrases, try engaging with God on a deeper level. Use your imagination and try to visualize the scenes in the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters and place yourself in their position. This makes your time of prayer more meaningful and personal.
You can also try incorporating different forms of prayer into your daily routine. For example, try a silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even journaling your prayers. This will keep your prayer practice from becoming monotonous and add variety to your spiritual routine.
One of the most effective ways to stay focused and in line with your prayer practice is by sharing your practice with others. Find an accountability partner, a friend or family member who can check in with you and help you to adhere to your daily routine. They could even be a part of your prayer and share their personal experiences.
The goal of a daily prayer practice is to strengthen your relationship with God and align your thoughts and actions with His will. It’s not about perfectionism or following a strict set of rules, it’s about being consistent and deliberate in your daily spiritual practice.
