Begin by addressing God and asking for his blessing as you read and meditate.

Read a passage from the Bible and reflect on it. It can be done by reading it three or four times, or listing everything it reveals about yourself or guidelines to obey or promises to keep.

Your prayer should be structured by praying for adoration, confession as well as petition and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your urgent needs and concerns as well as taking time to sit in the presence of God.

The great thing about praying is that it is customizable to fit your needs. Many people might only have just a few minutes, while others may have a half an hour or more. It’s important that you make this a regular part of your daily routine. If you don’t make it through a day or two do not fret! Get back on track the following day.

Try using your imagination to picture the scenes described in the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character and put yourself in their shoes. This makes your time of prayer more meaningful and personal.

It is also possible to incorporate different forms prayers into your daily routine. For instance, you can try silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even writing your prayers. This will prevent your prayer routine from becoming repetitive and provide variety to your spiritual routine.

Find a accountability partner, a family member or friend member who will be checking in with you and help you to adhere to your schedule. They could even be a part of your prayers and share their own experiences.

The goal of a daily prayer practice is to increase your connection with God and align your thoughts and actions with His will.
