The most challenging aspect of praying is making it a consistent part of our daily life. With a time and planning, you can create a prayer routine that works with your lifestyle and schedule. The best part is, you get to customize the ritual to suit your personal preferences and your spiritual beliefs.

Let’s be real, life can be hectic and it’s easy for prayer to slip down on the list of priorities. However, just like everything other thing worth having, it requires effort and discipline. This is where establishing a prayer routine comes in. It provides the structure and accountability needed to ensure that we’re connected to God on a regularly.

How do you start? The first step is to decide which time of the day works best for you to pray. Some people like to start their day with prayer, while others find it easier to pray before going to going to bed. Test and see what works best for you.

Once you’ve identified the ideal time for prayer You can begin to build your routine. Here’s an example of a pattern that you can follow daily for prayer in the morning:

Begin by approaching God to ask for his presence as you read and pray.

Go through a section of the Bible and meditate on it for a while. This can be done by reading the passage three to four times, or listing everything it reveals about yourself, the examples you can follow, instructions to follow or promises to keep.

Structure your prayer by praying for adoration, confession as well as petition and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your immediate needs and worries, and take time to sit in the presence of God.

The best thing about the prayer time routine is that it can be adapted to meet your requirements. Some people may only have a few minutes to spare while others might be able to devote a whole time or even more. The trick is making it a consistent element of your day-to-day routine. If you don’t make it through the occasional day or two Don’t be concerned! Just get back on track the following day.

An everyday prayer practice is an excellent opportunity to begin the new year with a new feeling of purpose and connection with the divine. It’s an effective way to start your day, keeping your eyes upon the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned in accordance with His plan.

Another way to increase your prayer routine is to make it more interactive. Instead of simply reciting phrases, try engaging with God on a deeper level. Make use of your imagination and try to picture the scenes described in the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This can make your time in prayer more personal and meaningful.

You can also try incorporating various forms in your prayer routine. For instance, you can try silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even writing your prayers. This can keep your prayer practice from becoming monotonous and add variety to your spiritual routine.

One of the most effective ways to remain focused and in line with your daily prayers is sharing the practice with other people. Find a partner in accountability, a family member or friend member who will be checking in with you and encourage you to keep to your routine. They can even join you in prayer and share their personal experiences.

Remember, the goal of a daily prayer practice is to deepen your relationship with God and ensure that your actions and thoughts are in line with His will. It’s not about achieving perfection or following the strict rules, it’s about being deliberate and consistent in your daily spiritual practice. So, take the time to find a prayer routine that you enjoy and make it a priority within your everyday life.
