Begin by talking to God to ask for his presence as you read and meditate.

Take a chapter from the Bible and reflect on it. This can be accomplished by reading it three or four times or by listing anything it tells you about yourself, or the examples you can follow, instructions to follow or promises to make.

Your prayer should be structured by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your immediate needs and worries, and take time to be in God’s presence.

The great thing about praying is that it can be adapted to meet your requirements. Many people might only have some minutes and others could have a half an hours or longer. Try using your imagination to visualize the scenes by the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character and place yourself in their shoes. This makes your time of prayer more meaningful and personal.

It is also possible to incorporate different forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For example, try silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even journaling your prayers. This will prevent your prayer routine from becoming repetitive and provide some variety to your daily spiritual routine.
