The most difficult aspect of praying is making it a constant part of our lives. With a time and planning you can develop your own prayer routine that is suitable for you and your schedule. And the best part is, you get to customize the ritual to suit your personal preferences and your spiritual beliefs.

Let’s be real, life can be hectic and it’s easy to let prayers slip down on the priority list. But just like anything else worth being a part of, it requires dedication and discipline. This is where the creation of the habit of praying comes into. It gives an order and accountability to ensure that we’re connected to God on a regularly.

How do you get started? The first step is to figure out the time of day that is the most suitable time to pray. Some prefer to begin their day with prayer, while others find it easier to pray at night before bed. Try it out and discover what works best for you.

After you’ve decided on the most appropriate time to pray then you can begin building your daily routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for morning prayer:

Begin by approaching God to ask for his help while you read and pray.

Go through a section of the Bible and then meditate on it for a while. It can be done by reading it three or four times, or writing down the things it says about yourself or examples to follow, commands to follow or promises to claim.

Make your prayer a ritual by praying for adoration, confession, petition, and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your urgent needs and concerns and then take time to enjoy God’s presence.

The best thing about praying is that it’s customizable to suit your needs. For some, you may have only some minutes and others could have an hours or longer. It’s important that you make this a consistent part of your routine. If you fall off a day or two, don’t sweat it! Get back on track for the next day.

A daily prayer practice is an excellent way to start the new year with a new sense of purpose and connection with the divine. It’s a powerful method to begin your day by putting your focus upon the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions to His plans.

Another way to enhance your prayer routine is to make it more engaging. Instead of just reciting words, you should try to connect with God at a deeper level. Use your imagination and try to visualize the scenes by the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters and place yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This makes your time of prayer more meaningful and personal.

Try incorporating various forms in your prayer daily routine. For example, try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even writing your prayers. This can keep your prayer routine from becoming boring and will add some variety to your daily spiritual routine.

One of the most effective ways to stay motivated and on track with your daily prayers is sharing the practice with others. Find a accountability partner either a close friend or family member who can check in with you and help you to adhere to your daily routine. They may even be a part of your prayer and share their personal experiences.

Remember, the goal of daily prayer is to deepen your relationship with God and make sure that your thoughts and actions are aligned in accordance with His plans. It’s not about achieving perfection or following a strict set of guidelines, but rather being intentional and consistent in your daily spiritual practice. So, take the time to find a prayer routine that you enjoy and make it a priority in your daily life. You’ll be amazed by the impact it has on your spiritual growth and overall health.
