Begin by talking to God and asking for his help as you read and meditate.
Go through a section of the Bible and reflect on it. This can be accomplished by reading it three to four times, or writing down everything it reveals about yourself or guidelines to obey or promises to keep.
Your prayer should be structured by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your immediate needs and worries and then take time to enjoy God’s presence.
The beauty of praying is that it can be adapted to suit your needs. Many people might only have just a few minutes and others could be able to devote a whole time or even more. It’s important to make it a regular part of your routine. If you don’t make it through the occasional day or two Don’t be concerned! Just get back on track the next day.
An everyday prayer practice is a wonderful way to start your new year off with a renewed feeling of purpose and connection with the divine. It’s a powerful way to start your day, putting your focus upon the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned with His will.
Another way to increase your prayer practice is to create a more engaging. Instead of reciting the phrases, try engaging with God in a deeper way. Try using your imagination to visualize the scenes in the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character and place yourself in their position. This will make your prayer time more personal and meaningful.
It is also possible to incorporate various forms of prayer into your daily routine. For example, try a silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even writing down your prayers. This can keep your prayer practice from becoming repetitive and provide some variety to your daily spiritual routine.
One of the best ways to remain focused and in line with your daily prayer routine is sharing your practice with other people. Find a accountability partner either a close friend or family member who will be checking on you regularly and help you to adhere to your daily routine. They could even join you in prayer and share their own experiences.
Rememberthat the purpose of a regular prayer routine is to increase your connection with God and make sure that your thoughts and actions are aligned to His plan.
