Begin by approaching God and asking for his help as you read and pray.

Go through a section of the Bible and then meditate on the passage. This can be done by reading the passage three to four times, or listing the things it says about yourself or guidelines to follow or promises to make.

Structure your prayer by making confession, adoration as well as petition and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your needs and pressing concerns, and take time to be in God’s presence.

This will make your prayer time more meaningful and personal.
