Since its establishment in 1978, the IU Vascular Diagnostic Center has continued its role of leadership and excellence in the field of non-invasive vascular testing and diagnosis. In January 1993, the lab was nationally accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) and was reaccredited in 1996, 1999 and 2002. Care and services are provided adhering to the Essentials and Standards of ICAVL, the Scope of Practice for the Diagnostic Ultrasound Professional of the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and the Vascular Technology Professional Performance Guideline of the Society of Vascular Ultrasonography.
